Cheers Kev.

Wouldn't you be more on the safe side if you kept what you have that is always reading a higher speed than what you are actually traveling?? :?

Haha, if I wanted safe I'd buy a Volvo. 8)

Looks like someone copied Kev's work. Not cool!

Yep not good form - we should put a ban on them - i for one will be promoting Kevs speedo rings over anyone else.
Typical of the short minded selfish prigs - and people wonder why I dont sell my parts  A year of my hard work can be gone in a day if my stuff falls into the wrong hands :x
Unfortunately the world is full of people that want everything for nothing - I bet the other supplier doesnt even know how to use CAD.
End of rant....................

If he came to this conclusion on his own then that's fine.

But yeah if this guy bought a set off Kev, then copied it like some Chinese factory. He's a piece of shit.

That is why the price will win in the end + he has gone for a different number of teeth. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KTM1290-R-AB ... SwVL1WBhHS

These rings are cut to 43T which does not allow for tyre wear, I went for 44T 6 months before he produced his first set which allows for tyre wear + my price is US$40.00 cheaper than his.

Sorry not getting back to you Kev, never saw your question since I haven't been logged in for a long time after I decided that the 1290 is a great bike to drive but have a quality of an average lawn mower.. I decided to sell and buy something I could trust but I have not received an offer I can accept yet and I guess that I'm stuck with it this season at least.

I didn't have the energy to cut them out between work and my newborn son and don't have any problems with you doing it. 8)

Thanks for your input, the question was posted many months ago & I only deleted a PM to you the other day discussing the rings which was sitting in my out box since June last year, I am just glad to help riders out with a cheap alterative to an over reading Speedo.

Ordered mine on eBay and they arrived yesterday, just get them powder coated and fitted and I’ll finally know how fast I’m actually going hopefully in time for the MotoHooligan airbox to arrive too.

Thanks Kev

Just order mine from Ebay - I hope I got the right guy?
Cannot wait to fit these and have an accurate speedo, thanks a bunch for doing this.
So quick question.

1) Whats the dealio with rear wheel hub removal - is this easy, not seen any posts on this so I assume no brainer.
2) Can I just spray paint the rings any color I want? Like orange?

Cheers, Digs.

1)Little fussy, but not too bad. Helps if you have a "center" type stand, but I was limited to a rear wheel stand, was able to slide the axle over enough to get a wrench on the inside nuts. In fact, I had a harder time getting the old front ring out, but a little wrestling prevailed.
2)Yes, though I powder coated mine, a little more durable. Have you seen this how-to?http://superduke.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=25633
